Box Score TACOMA, Wash. – After beating the University of Puget Sound 1-0 yesterday, the weekend sweep of the Loggers was not meant to be as the Pacific Lutheran University women's soccer team lost 4-0 in enemy territory.
The Loggers (5-1) jumped all over the Lutes on Sunday, scoring two goals in the first eight minutes. The Lutes would play the Loggers to a draw for the next 60 minutes until the home team struck two more times in the final 22.
The Lutes (2-3-1) produced nine shot attempts on the afternoon, but were unable to put any of them on net. Seniors
Maddie Landreth and
Ellie Johnson led PLU with two shots apiece. The visitors held a huge 12-5 edge in corner kicks, but were unable to use it to their advantage.
PLU will hit the road for Walla Walla next weekend for its first two contests against the Blues this spring. Both Saturday and Sunday's games are scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
