TACOMA, Wash. - The Pacific Lutheran University men's tennis squad was unable to complete a season sweep of crosstown rival University of Puget Sound, falling 5-4 in a Northwest Conference dual match at the UPS Tennis Pavilion.
Michael Campbell and
Marcus Lee collected the 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles but the Lutes' came up short in the other two doubles matches, falling by razor thin 8-7 margins at both No. 2 and No. 3.
In singles, Campbell rolled the Loggers' Josh Wah-Blumberg, 6-3, 6-2, to finish the day undefeated.
Derek Stone collected the, 6-3, 6-2, win at No. 3 while
Samuel Kwon took down Aiden Velasco, 6-1, 6-4, at the No. 5 position.
The Lutes (2-3, 1-3 NWC) had defeated the Loggers (1-4, 1-3 NWC) by a 6-3 scoreline back on Feb. 25.
PLU is back on the courts next Saturday, facing Linfield University in McMinnville, Oregon.
