D3baseball Team of the Week

TACOMA, Wash. - Another strong weekend at the plate has earned Pacific Lutheran University third basemen Jordan Haworth national accolades, landing a spot on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.
 
The Gig Harbor, Washington native earns a spot on the 14-player team for the second time this season. Haworth was five-for-10 at the plate over the weekend against George Fox University, driving in seven runs and scoring three more in a series win over Northwest Conference rival George Fox University. 
 
Four of Haworth's five hits went for extra bases, including two doubles and two home runs, closing the weekend with a 1.300 slugging percentage. The third basemen drove in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning in the series opener and extended his hitting streak which now stands at 15 games. 
 
This is the second time this season Haworth has earned a spot on the D3 Team of the Week and the third time a Lute has earned the honor. Haworth previously was named to the Team of the Week on March 9 while Connor Lemma was on the D3baseball Team of the Week on March 2. Haworth additionally was the NWC Hitter of the Week on March 22. 
 
Through the opening 18 games of the season, Haworth leads the Lutes with a .407 batting average with seven doubles and seven home runs. That includes ranking 10th in the nation in total bases and 17th in runs batted in. 
 
Haworth and the Lutes (10-8, 6-5 NWC) have the weekend off before taking on crosstown rival University of Puget Sound on April 10.
