WALLA WALLA, Wash. — The Pacific Lutheran men's soccer team won its second consecutive match Saturday, defeating Northwest Conference rival Whitman College 1-0 on the road.
Brandt Kelly scored in the 35th minute and goalkeeper
Nicholas Gaston made it stand up, making three saves to earn his second shutout of the season.
Kelly slotted home his low shot off a pass from
Ryan Griffith on the right flank. The goal held up as PLU (3-2) ended Whitman's three-game winning streak.
PLU out-shot Whitman 10-8, including 5-3 on goal.
The two teams square off again at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Walla Walla.
