Hall and Thomas Land Academic All-District Honors

TACOMA, Wash. - Pacific Lutheran University men's basketball student-athletes Seth Hall and Jordan Thomas were honored for their success on the court and in the classroom on Thursday, both earning College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) First Team Academic All-District honors.
 
Hall and Thomas were among the seven student-athletes to be honored as Academic All-District for District 8 and were the lone honorees from the Northwest Conference.
 
A senior sociology major, Hall lands a spot on the Academic All-District team after leading the Lutes in scoring averaging, 20.2 points per game while also adding 6.1 rebounds per game. The Vancouver, Washington native finished in double figures in all 10 games this season, including netting three double-doubles. Hall was named NWC Player of the Week on three occasions this season and was named Second Team D3hoops.com All-West Region at the conclusion of the season.
 
A junior sociology major, Thomas earns a spot on the Academic All-District Team after averaging 13.7 points per game and a team-best 8.0 rebounds per game. The Chehalis, Washington native led the team in assists, dishing out 4.1 per game while netting two double-doubles during the abbreviated season.
 
The 2021 Academic All-District Basketball Team, selected by CoSIDA, have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. To be eligible a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at their current institution and be nominated by their sports information director. District 8 for NCAA Division III is comprised of the West Region which encompasses 21 states in addition to Canada. 
 
The Lutes wrapped up the 2021 season with a 7-3 record, including collecting its first victory over Whitworth University since 2006 and getting off to the program's best start since the 1960-1961 season.
