Lute Duo Named All-Americans

Complete All-American Team

TACOMA, Wash. - The accolades continued to pour in for Pacific Lutheran University baseball student-athletes Jordan Haworth and Cole Trotignon with the duo landing a spot on the D3baseball.com All-American Team.
 
Haworth and Trotignon both earn a spot on the 15-player Second Team. The Lute duo along with Pacific University's Chase Anderson are the only three players from the Northwest Conference to earn All-American honors from d3baseball.com.
 
Haworth, who earned First Team All-NWC, d3baseball.com All-West Region, and ABCA All-West Region honors, lands Second Team All-American accolades at third base. Haworth was twice named to the d3baseball.com Team of the Week this season, landing the honor on March 9 and March 30. The Gig Harbor, Washington native had a 19-game hitting streak during the season and led the NWC in both slugging percentage (.782) and total bases (115). Haworth additionally ranked 13th nationally in home runs, tying a school single season record (13) and led the Lutes in batting average (.401), on-base percentage (.505), runs scored (46), and stolen bases (17).
 
Trotignon, who also earned First Team All-NWC, d3baseball.com All-West Region, and ABCA All-West Region honors, secures Second Team All-American status as a utility player. Trotignon led the NWC and ranked 16thnationally in runs batted in, racking up 54 in his debut season with the Lutes. The Kent, Washington native additionally hit .367 at the plate with 22 extra base hits. In the field, Trotignon racked up a team-best 203 putouts while making 11 starts on the mound, sporting a 3.75 earned run average with a 6-1 record. 
 
Haworth and Trotignon are the first Lutes to secure All-American honors since Garret Brown was ABCA Second Team All-American in 2016 and the first to earn d3baseball.com All-American honors since AJ Konopaski landed First Team honors as a reliever during the 2014 season. 

The Lutes qualified for the NWC Tournament for the sixth consecutive season this spring, remaining the only institution in the league to make the tournament every year of its existence. PLU wrapped the season with a 26-17 overall record with a 21-10 mark in conference play.
