Results

FOREST GROVE, Ore. - The Pacific Lutheran University women's swimming team made it look easy on Friday evening, capturing nine of the 11 events contested to steamroll host Pacific University 142-56 for the Lutes' 24th consecutive dual meet victory.

Annika Eisele, Isabella Valles, Jessica Ordaz, and Malia Wisham opened things up by winning the 400-yard medley relay in four minutes, 17.05 seconds. Bailey Hamilton and Mary Campbell secured the top two spots in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing in 2:06.52 and 2:07.67, respectively.

Wisham sat atop the podium in the 50-yard freestyle (25.92), edging Eisele (26.88) by a split second before Jessica Ordaz won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:16.97.

Eisele took the top spot by a comfortable nine-second margin in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing in 2:17.71 before Ordaz won her third event of the night, prevailing in the 100-yard freestyle (55.06) with Sidney Chan-Orcutt placing second (56.41).

Wisham won her third event in the 500-yard freestyle, stopping the clock in 5:17.00 with Campbell taking second place. Makenzie Chan-Orcutt (2:36.59) and Tori Oshiro (2:42.00) went one-two in the 200-yard breaststroke before Valles, Campbell, Maya Lovre, and Sidney Chan-Orcutt bookended the meet with a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:57.06).

PLU additionally picked up runner-up performances from Allie Burke in the 1,000-yard freestyle (12:00.69), Sidney Chan-Orcutt in the 200-yard IM (2:17.26), and Lovre in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:15.93).

"It was fun to finally compete again and we feel fortunate that we were able to, considering all that is happening right now," said Head Coach Matt Sellman.

"We were a bit rusty and maybe didn't have the right mindset to swim great but we did still get some good swims and got the win. We're excited to put some great work in these next few weeks as we get ready for the NWC Championships."

Pacific Lutheran will look to extend its dual meet win streak to 25 next Friday, hosting George Fox University at 6 p.m. in the final home meet of the 2021-2022 season.
