Results

TACOMA, Wash. — Devin Stanley won a trio of events to headline the Pacific Lutheran University men's swimming team's Northwest Conference dual meet home opener on Friday but it wasn't enough as the Lutes fell short 125-60 to Linfield University.

Stanley started the meet by prevailing in the 200-yard freestyle, clocking a winning time of one minute, 50.91 seconds and enjoying a nearly 2.5-second buffer on the rest of the field. The junior won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:06.31, part of a 1-2 finish for the Lutes before teaming up with Charlie Cutter, Ben Thompson, and Tyler Tanaka to win the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:22.39 to close out the meet.

Tanaka won the 1,000-yard freestyle by a comfortable margin, finishing in 10:24.73 before placing runner-up in the 200 back behind Stanley, touching the wall in 2:09.29.

Cutter was second in the 50-yard freestyle in 23.13 while Jay Hong (200-yard breaststroke) and the 400-yard medley relay both collected third place finishes.

The Lutes are back in the water tomorrow afternoon, hosting NWC rival Lewis & Clark College at 1 p.m.
