TACOMA, Wash. – Playing across town at the University of Puget Sound, the Pacific Lutheran University women's tennis team lost to California Lutheran University, 9-0.
"We knew today was going to be a tough match with solid opponents," said PLU Head Coach
Cheri Campbell. "Everyone worked on mixing up their shot selection and we have our practice plans for the week."
The Lutes (1-6) won just 11 games on the day.
Meggie Burnett and
Tianna Jeffries won a set in doubles action and Burnett also was the leader in singles as she won three sets at the No. 4 spot in the order.
Taylor Stokes and Lillian Nguyen also won multiple games for PLU.
PLU will remain in Tacoma on Friday when they host the Community Colleges of Spokane at 4:00 p.m. at Sprinker Recreation Center in their nonconference finale.
