TACOMA, Wash. - Crosstown rivals Pacific Lutheran University and the University of Puget Sound face off one final time this academic year, meeting on the baseball diamond on Thursday night under the lights at Cheney Stadium, home of the Seattle Mariners' AAA affiliate.
The Rivalry between the Lutes and Loggers has been one-sided this academic year with PLU finishing ahead of Puget Sound in the NWC standings in 15 of the Lutes' 19 varsity sports. That includes the Lutes owning a 4-0 record against the Loggers on the baseball diamond this spring.
Thursday's tilt at Cheney Stadium begins at 6 p.m. Admission is free and the first 50 PLU students will receive a free t-shirt. Thursday's game marks the return of the annual Cheney Stadium game between the Lutes and Loggers. The last meeting at Cheney saw the Lutes prevail 7-3 back in 2019 with
Tommy Snyder earning the win on the hill.
