Complete CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams
TACOMA, Wash. - College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) released its Academic All-District award winners on Thursday with Pacific Lutheran University baseball student-athlete
Connor Lemma securing a spot on the District 8 Team for NCAA Division III.

A quadruple major, Lemma lands a spot on the Academic All-District Team as one of the five outfielders. 16 total student-athlete populate the All-District 8 team with Lemma one of two Northwest Conference players on the list, joining Willamette University infielder Luke Werkmeister-Martin.

"I can honestly say that Connor is the most organized, involved student-athlete that I have ever coached," said Head Coach
Nolan Soete. "He wears so many different hats on campus and I'm amazed at how well he's able to balance academics, work, baseball, and his social life during his time at PLU. He is a true leader who excels in the classroom and on the field."

The 2021 Academic All-District Baseball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. To be eligible a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at their current institution, and be nominated by their sports information director. District 8 for NCAA Division III is comprised of the West Region which encompasses 21 states in addition to Canada.

Lemma played in 89 games over the past four seasons, sporting a .289 batting average with 39 RBIs and 33 runs scored. This spring, Lemma helped the Lutes finish with a 22-18 record and a 13-11 mark in conference play, making an appearance in the NWC Tournament for the seventh consecutive season.
In addition to his success on the field, Lemma is the Lutes' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee President, is the student director for outdoor recreation, a peer tutor, a program assistant for the PLU center for student success, a math grader, and an admissions ambassador. Connor has volunteered with Special Olympics, Be the Match, and Team Impact.
