Box Score TACOMA, Wash. –
Olivia Boehm has only been a member of the Pacific Lutheran women's soccer team for five games.
She sure didn't show any youth Saturday, though.
The freshman scored twice to help lead the Lutes to a 3-1 victory against Pacific at East Field in the Northwest Conference opener for PLU.
"It was really exciting to just come out here – being with the team and having our first home conference game," Boehm said. "Scoring two goals was really exciting for me. The whole team stepped up and brought energy today."
The victory keeps the Lutes (4-0-1 overall, 1-0 NWC) undefeated on the season. They will face Linfield at 12 p.m. Sunday at East Field.
"We got better as a team as the game went along," PLU coach
Seth Spidahl said. "I don't think we played bad today, but I don't think we played awesome."
The game was scoreless at halftime as the Boxers (3-2-0, 0-2) seemed content to sit back and force the Lutes to try to break down their backline.
Boehm did just that eventually, scoring in the 49
th minute off an assist from
Hannah Cecil. It was her second goal of the season.
"She has only been here a couple of weeks and for her to have three goals in the limited time she has played is a great ratio," Spidahl said. "She is going to be an exciting player for us and she is already making an impact on games."

The game remained 1-0 until the 74
th minute, when
Ashlee Gormley scored off an assist from
Kayden Hulquist.
"This was a great start and is something to build off of," Gormley said. "During the run of play, I feel like I kind of black out and my best moments are when I'm not thinking about it.
"I know I received the ball from Kayden and I had a small opening and so I took the shot and it worked out."
Less than six minutes later, Gormley found Boehm for her second goal of the match and third on the season.
"We came in with the mindset that we didn't care how we played against them last year," Gormley said. "We just wanted to go in with full effort and the right attitude and just worked hard."
Pacific's Mirella Garcia scored off of a free kick in the 82
nd minute to round out the scoring.
The Lutes out-shot the Boxers 18-6, including 6-2 on goal.
Shaylin Cesar earned the win, allowing the one goal and making one save.
