TACOMA, WASH. --- The Pacific Lutheran Men's Soccer team continued their run towards history on Saturday, with a dominant 7-0 performance at home. The Lutes have now won five straight and have not lost since September 8
th.

With all of the season-long momentum in the Lutes favor, they continue to start quick in each game. Breaking the ice in the 5
th minute was senior
Dane Helle who beat the Bruins keeper following a pass from junior
Trevor Thompson.

The Lutes established dominance early, controlling the time of possession by a wide margin. Thompson found a goal of his own in the 26
th minute following a pass from senior
Craig Johnson.
Â
A strong defense is the backbone of this Lutes squad, who held the Bruins without a shot through the first 45 minutes of the match. The Lutes fired seven of their own, scoring on two, and missing the other five off-target.

With a 2-0 lead heading into the second half, the Lutes didn't let off the gas as Johnson scored three minutes into the second half, earning an assist for senior
Robby Guyer.

Just two minutes later, Thompson found the back of the net once again, putting the Lutes up 4-0 early in the final half. Freshman
Alex Coope's pass earned him an assist.

In the 56
th minute, Johnson continued his historic scoring season with his second goal of the game, giving freshman
Alvin Kamau an assist as well. Once again, two minutes following Johnson's goal senior defenseman
Cole Dobson used his head to beat the Bruins goalkeeper and put the Lutes up by six. Dobson's goal came on an excellent corner kick from senior
Sammy Tafolla.

Following a round of substitutions for the Lutes, junior
Jordan Ross headed a ball form the far post on yet another corner kick from Tafolla to make it a 7-0 game.

The reserve defense showed the depth the Lutes have at the position, as the second and final shot for the Bruins came in the 71
st minute but was off-target.

Senior goalkeeper
Nicholas Gaston finished the night with one save in 70 minutes played. It was the defense of the Lutes that allowed the offense to shoot 14 total shots, seven of which were on-target.

Thompson and Dobson lead the team with three shots each. Thompson and Johnson, the leading scorers for the Lutes, each added two goals and an assist to their resume's. Nine Lutes took at least one shot in the contest, while five different found the back of the net.

The Lutes will look to carry their momentum heading into tomorrow's match against the Linfield Wildcats on East Field at 2:30 p.m.
