TACOMA, WASH. --- The Pacific Lutheran Men's Soccer team got revenge against the Linfield Wildcats with a 2-0 victory on Sunday at Home.

The Lute offense and defense continues to shine each game, as the Lutes outscored their opponents 9-0 over the weekend.

Earlier this season, the Wildcats earned a draw on their pitch. This time, the Lutes got the offense going early, as senior
Robby Guyer fired a shot that beat the Wildcats keeper. Senior forward
Craig Johnson adds to his impressive season with another assist on Guyer's score.

The Lutes followed with continuous shot attempts, but each was saved by the Wildcats goalkeeper. The first shot for the Wildcats came in the 32
nd minute, but was off-target.

Nicholas Gaston made his first save of the day in the 42
nd minute following the Wildcats second and final shot of the first half.

With an 11-2 lead in the shot category, the Lutes held a 1-0 lead into the half.

The Lutes began the second half, eager to add to their lead. In the 51
st minute, senior
Dane Helle did just that. Helle's goal earned senior
Sammy Tafolla an assist and put the Lutes up 2-0.

The Wildcats attempted to claw back into the game, but Gaston saved the two Wildcat attempts on-target in the 61
st and 62
nd minutes. For the final 28 minutes of the contest, the Lute defense held the Wildcats shotless.

The Lutes offense took a total of 19 shots on Sunday, eight being on-target. Gaston made a total of four saves. Thompson fired six shots while Helle had four of his own. Johnson and Tafolla earned one assist each.

With two games left in October, the Lutes are 6-0-1 in the month.

The Lutes will strive to repeat their strong performances next weekend at home against Pacific and Lewis & Clark at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 28
th, and Sunday, October 29
th.
