TACOMA, Wash. — The Pacific Lutheran University women's tennis team christened its new home venue over the weekend, downing Highline College 6-3 on Friday night before stumbling 8-1 to College of Idaho on Saturday at the Galbraith Tennis Center.

On Friday against the reigning Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) Champion Thunderbirds,
Chloe Andrewjeski and
Lilian Nguyen collaborated to win 8-5 at No. 1 doubles while
Jillian Chong and
Meggie Burnett rolled 8-2 at the No. 2 doubles spot.

In singles action, Andrewjeski prevailed, 6-3, 6-0, at No. 1 over Highline's Riley Cordova while Chong earned a, 6-2, 6-3, victory at No. 3. Burnett rolled, 6-0, 6-3, at No. 4 with
Ella Burriss walking away with a, 6-0, 6-1, win at No. 5.Â

On Saturday, the NAIA Coyotes (2-4) swept doubles play despite a strong effort from Chong and Burriss at No. 2, coming up short 8-5.

In singles, Chong rolled to a, 6-0, 6-4, victory at No. 3 to secure her second singles win of the weekend.Â

"We lost a hard fought battle against College of Idaho. Jillian had a great win on court three and we played court two doubles super tight.," said Head Coach
Michael Harmon.

"We're getting a little bit better with each contest and we should play CoI a lot closer when we meet again in April."
