Box Score TACOMA, Wash. — The Pacific Lutheran University men's tennis team battled in its Northwest Conference opener on Saturday but ultimately came up short 9-0 against host University of Puget Sound at the UPS Tennis Pavilion.
"We were outmatched today but we weren't out hustled. We played our hardest up until the very last ball. That's the image we're trying to build and we're very proud of that," said Head Coach

Dillon Wells and
Drew Kraft continue to gel as doubles partners, providing a stiff challenge at No. 1 doubles before coming up short, 8-2. In singles, Wells dropped a, 6-0, 6-1, decision at No. 1 while Kraft suffered a, 6-2, 6-1, setback at No. 2.
Evan Kaku was within striking distance in a, 6-3, 6-0 match against the Loggers' No. 3 player.
"Lots to improve on before Willamette and Pacific at home next weekend."
The Lutes (0-6, 0-1 NWC) are back at home next weekend, hosting Willamette University on Friday night at 8:30 p.m. at the Galbraith Tennis Center.
