HILLSBORO, Ore. — 17 Pacific Lutheran University student-athletes were recognized by the Northwest Conference office on Tuesday afternoon, earning a spot on the conference's All-Sportsmanship Team for the 2022-2023 academic year.
The NWC All-Sportsmanship Team is selected by head coaches of each sport for displaying good sportsmanship throughout the season.
PLU's All-Sportsmanship team members include:
Rowan Amann (baseball),
Trey Garey (men's basketball),
Ashley Akamine (women's basketball),
Jonah Maier (men's cross country),
Joan Park (women's cross country),
Syi Campbell (football),
Hunter Olson (men's golf),
Sara Rhodes (women's golf),
Jessie Dougherty (women's rowing),
Ryan Griffith (men's soccer),
Meghan Michels (women's soccer),
Mattie Cheever (softball),
Henri Coronado-Volta (men's swimming),
Maya Lovre (women's swimming),
Danny Samson (men's track & field),
Tabitha Messineo (women's track & field), and
Madeline Dawson (volleyball).Â
The Lutes closed out the academic year with a third place finish in the NWC's McIlroy-Lewis All-Sports Trophy, winning a league title in women's soccer and finishing runner-up in men's cross country, men's soccer, football, and softball.
