ESTACADA, Ore. — Anna Iverson finished seventh overall in a season-best time, pacing the Pacific Lutheran University women's cross country team on Saturday at the Lewis & Clark Invitational. 
 
"We haven't been able to shake bugs going around making everyone sick," said Head Coach Jacob Wahlenmaier.
 
"Despite that, I think we had a good day and I saw the things I was hoping to see to set us up for conference in two weeks. I continue to believe we're going to surprise people at conference." 
 
Iverson toured the 6,000-meter course in 23 minutes, 30.1 seconds, finishing seventh overall in a personal best effort. The senior ran the first 1K in 7:34 and checked in at the 4K mark in 19:59.4. 
 
Sal Mattivi was the next Lute finisher, netting 18th overall in 24:43.8. Jessalyn Robles was the third Lute in the top 25, placing 24th in a personal record time of 25:19.5. Victoria Lindley and Annika Deazley rounded out the scoring five, finishing 30th and 34th, respectively. Lindley crossed the tape in 25:44.8 with Deazley stopping the clock in 26:04.1.
 
Natalie Moran-Padilla was 40th in 27:11.5 while Rachel Rosario was PLU's seventh runner, clocking a personal best time of 27:29.0 and finishing 42nd.
 
"Jess and Rachel both had great days, Pring by 58 seconds and 1:31, respectively, while Victoria had her best race in a long time."

Sophia Czar and Damaris Ibrahim both set 6K PRs at the race with Czar finishing in 27:49.3 and Ibrahim in 28:44.9. 
 
PLU tallied 99 points as a team, finishing fifth among the seven teams competing. Host Lewis & Clark College won the meet, landing three runners in the top four including individual champion Riley Buese and scoring 49 points. 
 
The Lutes are back in action on Nov. 2, competing at the 2024 Northwest Conference Championships in Salem, Oregon.
