McCurdy Inks with Aussie Pro Squad

TACOMA, Wash. — Pacific Lutheran University men's basketball alum Sean McCurdy will be continuing his basketball journey down under, signing a pro contract with Australia's Port Macquarie Dolphins.
 
McCurdy played four seasons with the Lutes, appearing in 77 games and making 44 starts from 2019 to 2023. The Spanaway, Washington native averaged 9.3 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game in a Lute uniform, helping PLU win a share of the Northwest Conference title in 2022 while earning First Team All-NWC accolades as a senior in 2023. 

McCurdy continued his playing career in Georgia as a graduate student at Faulkner University and played this fall with the Seattle Mountaineers. The Lute alum is also a content creator on social media with his popular instagram account— @fitwsean— having over 175,000 followers.

The Dolphins are based out of Port Macquarie in the Australian state of New South Wales. Located four hours north of Sydney, the Dolphins play in the Basketball NSW Warratah League.
