TACOMA, Wash. — The Pacific Lutheran University Athletic Department announced the promotion of Andy Foltz to Associate Athletic Director for Facilities & Operations.
Foltz served as the Assistant Athletic Director at PLU since 2018, including serving as Assistant AD for Facilities and Operations in a full-time capacity since 2022. Foltz joined the PLU athletics staff in 2014 as the women's rowing coach and held that position until 2022.
"Foltz has worn a variety of hats for our department over the last 10 years and has done a great job of enhancing the student-athlete experience," said Athletic Director Mike Snyder.
"This promotion is a reflection of his hard work and dedication to PLU and we can't wait to see him continue to improve our University as the Associate AD."
In just two years, Foltz has increased department revenue by over a quarter million dollars from sponsorships, rentals, and ticket sales. Under his watch, the Lutes have upgraded the bleachers at the PLU Softball Field, replaced the outfield fence and turf at the PLU Baseball Field, added championship banners inside Olson Gymnasium, remodeled the PLU Athletics Hall of Fame display, while also re-striping the track and replacing the javelin runway. Foltz has additionally enhanced the game day experience, overseeing all game day operations for the Lutes' 18 sports.
As Associate AD, Foltz will be the direct supervisor for the women's rowing and men's and women's swimming programs along with supervising the strength and conditioning staff.
As PLU's rowing coach, Foltz helped the Lutes win six straight Northwest Conference titles and was the NWC Coach of the Year on six occasions. His squad made the NCAA Division III Championships six times, highlighted by a fourth place finish during the 2016 campaign.
