Women's golf opens the spring season on Monday in California at the West Coast Invitational while the swimming and track & field teams have the weekend off.

Super Lutes: For the fourth time in five years a Lute alumnus is coaching in the Super Bowl! This year Michael Byrne '09 will be patrolling the sidelines as an offensive assistant for the NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks.Â

Women's Basketball: The Lutes (2-18, 1-10 NWC) picked up a road win on Friday night, putting together a strong opening half in a 78-58 victory over Lewis & Clark College.
Ghadir Ramadan was dialed in, scoring 25 points with 10 rebounds while
Sydney Reisner added 18. PLU held the River Otters to just 10 points in the second quarter, staking a 30-21 halftime edge.Â

PLU fell 75-45 the following night to George Fox University, getting another 18-point performance from Reisner.Â

Reisner scored her 1,000th point on Tuesday night, becoming the 12th player in program history to do so in an 84-42 setback to crosstown rival University of Puget Sound. With 1,012 career points, the former NWC Rookie of the Year is now just 40 points from 10th on the all-time scoring list.Â
Women's Swimming: The Lutes (6-2) finished off the dual meet season on Saturday afternoon, coming up short 158-99 to Puget Sound.Â

Emma Gassman and
Harper Canessa both won a trio of events. The duo were members of PLU's winning 200-yard medley relay (one minute, 51.55 seconds) and 200-yard freestyle relay teams (1:42.28) in addition to Gassman winning the 200-yard backstroke (2:17.22) and Canessa prevailing in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:34.03).Â

The Lutes are off this weekend before heading to Boise, Idaho for the 2026 NWC Championships held on Feb. 13-15.

Men's Swimming: Pacific Lutheran (6-2) won four individual events on Saturday against the crosstown Loggers, falling 161-90 in the final dual meet of the year.
PLU's four wins came from four different Lutes. Matthew Jones took top honors in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.03) while also getting wins from
Anthony James in the 100-yard freestyle (49.59),
Vyron Domingo in the 200-yard backstroke (2:00.17), and Gus Hertz in the 100-yard butterfly (54.50).Â
Men's Basketball: It's crunch time for the Lutes (10-10, 4-7 NWC) who have some catching up to do to make the NWC Tournament with five games left in the regular season.
PLU opened last weekend by dropping an 85-68 road game to Lewis & Clark despite a 23-point performance from
Ben Tellez.Â

Six Lutes were in double figures the following night, including a career-high 17 from
Zach Zuckerman in a 96-70 thrashing of George Fox. The Lutes capped off the road trip on Tuesday evening, erasing a 13-point deficit before going cold in overtime in a 74-70 setback to Puget Sound.Â
Track & Field: The Lutes made a return trip to Seattle last Friday, sending a small group of sprinters and jumpers to the UW Invitational at Dempsey Indoor.

Soukhanya Waters shaved off a tenth of a second off her 60-meter dash time, racing down the straightaway in 8.04 seconds.
Lexie McGurk ran a 27.18 in the 200-meters while
Ki Neir cleared 11 feet, 5 ¾ inches to place fifth in the pole vault B section.
The men's team saw
Hunter Kleindl vault a season-best 14' 9" to place third in the pole vault B section while
Seth Kramer jumped 21' 3 ¼" in the long jump. On the track,
Tyger Willingham clocked a 7.18 in the 60-meters.

PLU takes the weekend off and will close out the indoor season on Feb. 14, taking the entire team to Spokane for the Whitworth Invitational.Â
Women's Golf: The Lutes begin the spring season on Monday, competing at the West Coast Classic in Riverside, California. PLU will be one of nine teams competing, a field that also includes NWC rival and host Lewis & Clark.
The Lutes last competed on Oct. 20 with both
Kate Sabarillo and
Kathleen Pullin finishing inside the top 30 at the Confluence Classic in Walla Walla, Washington. Sabarillo led the way, shooting a 173 (86-87) to finish 24th overall while Pullin was 26th with a 177 (90-87).Â
Baseball: The Lutes are just a week away from opening the 2026 season when they head down to southern California for a three-game series with California Lutheran University. Last season, PLU picked up wins over teams from all three NCAA divisions, including a historic upset of the University of Washington.
