TACOMA, Wash. --- The Pacific Lutheran Men's Soccer team (3-1-3, 1-0-2 NWC) competed against the other school in Tacoma on Wednesday night, the Puget Sound Loggers (2-1-2, 1-0-2 NWC).
Cole Dobson scored the Lutes lone goal in a 1-1 draw on East Field.

The Lutes took the first attempt in the game, off the foot of senior
Craig Johnson, that was saved by the Loggers goalkeeper down the middle. A pair of Loggers shot ensued, both missing the goal to the left.

The two rival squads traded shots to end the first half, with
Yuta Shimazu sending the final attempt wide. Neither team could break the ice in the first half, as the half ended in a 0-0 tie.

Senior forward
Trevor Thompson began the second half with a shot that required a Loggers save, but in the 60
th minute, senior
Christian Pineda picked up a yellow card at midfield. Just two minutes later, the Lutes earned a free kick at the top left corner of the box. Sophomore
Connor O'Brien attempted the cross that was found by senior defender
Cole Dobson on the far post where he would finish the job to put the Lutes up 1-0.

13 minutes after the Lutes gained the lead, the Loggers broke away on a counter-attack, as Rhys Foote's shot beat Lutes goalkeeper
Nicholas Gaston to level the game back up at 1-1.

PLU's defense would lock in for the next 20 minutes, as the offense was unable to extend the lead after maintaining possession for the majority of the half. One final attempt from sophomore
Alvin Kamau in the 88
th minute, was stopped by the Loggers keeper, ending the game in a 1-1 tie. The tie moves the Lutes to 1-0-2 in Northwest Conference play.

PLU outshot Puget Sound 12-8, with eight of the Lutes chances being on-target to three Loggers attempts on-frame. The Loggers goalkeeper made seven saves to Gastons two. Johnson led with three shots, to Thompson and Kamau's two. Johnson's three shots were all on-target while both of Thompson's required saves. Eight different Lutes attempted shots in the contest, as Dobson's only shot resulted in the only PLU goal.

The Lutes will hit the road this weekend, travelling south to Portland, Ore. to look to extend their winning streak in a match against Lewis & Clark on Saturday at 12 p.m.
