PORTLAND, Ore. — Tyler Tanaka won two individual events and was on a winning relay but it wasn't enough to escape Portland with a victory as the Pacific Lutheran University men's swimming team fell short 109-91 against Northwest Conference rival Lewis & Clark College on Saturday.
The Lutes began the meet with a bang, as
Hoskoo Amgalan, Tanaka,
Na'inoa Loo, and
Dakota Domingo won the 200-yard medley relay by a comfortable six-second margin, touching the wall in one minute, 41.10 seconds.
Tanaka and
Christian Georgi went one-two in the 400-yard individual medley. Tanaka finished in 4:23.63 with Georgi logging a time of 4:29.88. The Lutes swept the top three spots in the 100-yard breaststroke with Tanaka leading the way. The Hawaii native won the race in 1:00.51 with Loo second in 1:02.67 and Domingo third in 1:04.15.
Aidan Koshinsky was runner-up in the 1,650-yard freestyle, stopping the clock in 19:28.37 while
Anthony James took second in the 50-yard freestyle in 22.74. Domingo was second in the 100-yard freestyle in 49.84 while Loo was second in the 100-yard backstroke by a split second, falling 0.25 seconds shy of the top spot with an effort of 56.95.
The Lutes closed out the meet with a runner-up finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay, finishing in 1:36.22.
Pacific Lutheran finishes off its dual meet slate next Saturday across town against the University of Puget Sound.
