MCMINNVILLE, Ore.— The Pacific Lutheran University men's soccer team stay hot and wins their fifth consecutive game as 
Owen Bliskis brace powers them past the Linfield University Wildcats 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.
PLU improves their overall record to 11-3-3 and 10-0-3 in Northwest Conference play. Lutes remain in second place in the table with 33 points just two points behind Whitman University.
The number one offense in the NWC showed why again scoring three goals for the 11th time this season, while increasing the goals per game average to 2.765. Lutes started the game early scoring in the 4th minute from a drawn penalty kick in the box by Bliskis who would then authoritatively place it in the right corner just past the Wildcat keeper. 
Ty Brunner would get in on the action scoring just three minutes later off an olimpico air-bending the ball directly in to the goal as it grazed a Wildcat defender 2-0. PLU out shot Linfield 10-1 in the first half. Lutes weren't finished offensively coming out to begin the second half. Bliskis would find the net again scoring in the 48th minute flicking a header back to 
Connor O'Brien who then laid a touch back to Bliskis clinically finishing the shot near post. Wildcats wouldn't walk away with the win, but they got momentum getting one goal on the board in the second half which proved to not be enough.
Bliskis adds to goal total as he is in pursuit of the golden boot of NWC sitting in first place with 12 goals on the season so far. Not far being him in fourth place is Brunner with eight goals. O'Brien also leads the NWC in assists at 11 total. The Lutes have won every game so far that O'Brien has had at least one assist in.
Landon Gordon makes his second straight start after earning NWC Defensive Athlete of the week the week prior totaling 90 minutes and finishing with three saves.
Play resumes for the Lutes tomorrow as they travel to Pacific University with kickoff slated for 1:45 PM.
