Official NCAA Division III Tournament Bracket
TACOMA, Wash. — The Northwest Conference Tournament Champion Pacific Lutheran University volleyball squad is heading to the East Coast for the 2025 NCAA Division III Championships, flying out to Cambridge, Massachusetts for the opening three rounds.
The Lutes (16-9) will square off against 12th-ranked and host Massachusetts Institute of Technology (27-3) who earned one of the tournament's 43 automatic qualifying bids after winning the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference. The winner of the Lutes-Engineers match will face off against the winner between at-large qualifiers Williams College (19-7) and Franklin & Marshall College (22-6). The other first round matchups at MIT will be at-large selection Salisbury University (28-6) against Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Champion Colorado College (23-7), and Skyline Conference Champion Manhattanville College (20-7) against at-large pick Trinity University (22-5).Â
This is the Lutes' 14th trip to the NCAA Tournament and the first since the 2023 campaign. PLU has previously qualified in 2023, 2018, 2017, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2004, and 1999, all under the direction of Head Coach
Kevin Aoki.
The Lutes punched their ticket this year after winning the 2025 NWC Tournament, defeating NWC Co-Champion University of Puget Sound 3-2 in the semifinals before downing host, top-seed, and NWC Co-Champion Whitworth University 3-1 on Saturday evening.Â
PLU's match against MIT will take place on Thursday with first serve at 7 p.m. (Eastern)/4 p.m. (Pacific).Â
