TACOMA, Wash. — Four members of the 2025 Northwest Conference Tournament Champion Pacific Lutheran University volleyball team were honored for their success in the classroom on Tuesday, with Alexis Eggert, Haley Goto, Macy Matsushima, and Ayre Takamoto securing College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District accolades.

Eggert earns the award for the second consecutive season while Goto, Matsushima, and Takamoto secure the honor for the first time in their careers.

A nursing major, Alexis Eggert played in all 95 sets this fall for the Lutes. The Missoula, Montana native and Third Team All-NWC selection was second on the team in kills with 236, averaging nearly 2.5 per set while leading the team in blocks with 67.

A kinesiology major, Haley Goto appeared in 86 sets this season. The Honolulu, Hawaii native closed out the year with 100 kills and 39 blocks.

An education major, Macy Matsushima played in all 95 sets for the Lutes this year. The Honolulu, Hawaii native and Second Team All-NWC selection racked up a team-high 428 digs, averaging 4.5 per set while also leading the squad in aces with 39.
 
A biology major, Ayre Takamoto played in 94 of the Lutes' 95 sets this season. A Honolulu, Hawaii native and Second Team All-Conference honoree, Takamoto led the team in assists with 812, averaging 8.6 per set. Takamoto also tallied 61 kills, 259 digs, and 29 blocks.
 
The Lutes wrapped up the 2025 campaign with a 16-10 overall record and a 12-4 mark in NWC play. PLU won the NWC Tournament title for the second time in three years before having the season come to a close in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Tournament against regional host Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
