TACOMA, Wash. — The Pacific Lutheran University athletic department continued its commitment to service and giving back to the local community, hosting a Youth All-Sports Clinic during the fall.
A total of 20 PLU student-athletes volunteered at the free clinic for children in grades second through sixth on October 25th. All told, 40 children from the Parkland and Tacoma community participated.Â
In addition to learning more about a variety of sports, participants also received a free sling bag and either a basketball, football, soccer ball, or volleyball to take home. The sling bags and balls were donated from grant funds provided by a generous community partner.
The Fall Youth Sports Clinic is one of several free events the department conducts each year for members of the local community. PLU additionally hosts a Special Olympics clinic during winter, a clinic in conjunction with National Girls and Women in Sports Day in February, and another All-Sports Clinic in May.
