Official NWC Release

HILLSBORO, Ore. — Pacific Lutheran University women's basketball student-athletes Brooke Samura and Sydney Reisner were recognized by the Northwest Conference office on Wednesday afternoon, both securing Honorable Mention All-NWC accolades.

Brooke Samura lands Honorable Mention status after a brilliant debut season in the black and gold. The Kamuela, Hawaii native was one of just two first years to earn All-League status this winter. The guard played in all 25 games this season, starting in 17 games and finishing second on the team in both scoring (9.2 points per game) and rebounding (6.1 per game). Samura was even better during the 16-game league slate, dropping 11.3 ppg and hauling in 7.1 rpg. Samura finished in double figures 11 times this season, with 10 of those coming in conference play. That includes scoring 20 against crosstown rival University of Puget Sound and a career-high 25 in the season finale against Lewis & Clark College. 

Sydney Reisner lands Honorable Mention All-NWC for the second time in her career. The Burlington, Washington native was Honorable Mention All-NWC and the NWC Rookie of the Year during the 2022-2023 campaign.  This year, Reisner led the Lutes in scoring averaging 11.6 points per game. The junior was a sharpshooter from beyond the arc, hitting a team-best 39 threes this winter, shooting at a 35.1 percent clip from three-point range. The guard scored in double figures 14 times this winter, including 25 against Northwest University. 
 
Pacific Lutheran finished the season tied for sixth in the conference standings, closing the 2024-2025 campaign with an 8-17 overall record and a 5-11 mark in NWC play.
