Complete Regional Rankings
TACOMA, Wash. — The NCAA Division III selection Committee released its first regional rankings of the spring this week with the Pacific Lutheran University women's rowing team sitting atop the Pacific Region.
The Lutes own the top spot in the Pacific Region team rankings, edging past Northwest Conference rival Lewis & Clark College for the top position. In the individual boat rankings, PLU's varsity eight boat ranks second in the region behind a crew from University of Puget Sound while the Lutes' second varsity eight is second behind Lewis & Clark.Â
Under first-year Head Coach
Matt Oclander, the Lutes have proven to be one of the toughest teams in the West. PLU's varsity eight has twice won NWC Crew of the Week honors along with the Lute varsity four also earning NWC Crew of the Week. The Lute varsity eight owns victories over conference rivals Pacific University and Lewis & Clark while winning the petite finals at the Battle of Brigantine last month in New Jersey with a convincing win over Franklin & Marshall College (Pa.).Â
NCAA Division III women's rowing is divided into four regions with Saint Mary's College of Maryland the top team in the Mid-Atlantic, Tufts University (Mass.) the top team in the New England Region, and Ithaca College (N.Y.) holding down No. 1 in the New York Region.Â
Pacific Lutheran has this weekend off before heading to Lake Vancouver for the 2025 NWC Championships on April 19.Â
