TACOMA, Wash.--- The Pacific Lutheran University women's lacrosse team (1-13, 0-7 NWC) took on Northwest Conference foe Whitman College (11-4, 6-1 NWC) on Saturday afternoon on East Field, with the Blues taking the matchup, 21-2.

Whitman grabbed the opening draw control, and maintained the offensive possession for the first pair of minutes, leading to the first goal of the game with 12:48 remaining in quarter one.
Taylee Alldredge fired the first shot of the game for PLU 90-seconds later, but missed the target wide on a free position attempt.

The Lutes were held without a shot over the next seven-minutes of play, meanwhile the Blues took an early 5-0 lead.

Katrina Moran cutting towards the crease, where Moran would beat the Blues goalkeeper and make it 5-1 at the end of the first 15-minutes of play.

The Blues added four-straight goals in the first five-minutes of the second quarter, but
Gracie Cecka took over for the Lutes on offense, scoring on PLU's first shot of the second quarter, making it 9-2 Blues at the half.

Whitman's defense locked down coming out of the half, allowing Moran and the Lutes just one shot attempt on limited offensive possession, meanwhile the Blues added five scores to take a 14-2 lead into the final quarter of play. Cecka opened the fourth with the Lutes only shot of the final quarter, but was stopped by the Blues keeper. Whitman added seven goals in the fourth, with three coming in a less-than two-minute span. Whitman remains one-game behind the George Fox Bruins on the conference standings, taking a 21-2 win over the Lutes on East Field.

Cccka and Moran led the Lutes on offense, not only scoring the two goals, but also each taking two shots; both of which were on-target. Cecka also matched Liz Zaboski with a team-high four groundballs in the game, while
Brandie Tobin forced four turnovers on defense. Diller made seven saves on 39 shots faced.

The Lutes complete their first varsity season tomorrow afternoon on East Field, where they will celebrate six Lute seniors and face the Pirates of Whitworth University at 1 p.m. Senior Day recognition is scheduled to begin at 12:40 p.m.
