TACOMA, Wash. — The Pacific Lutheran University Athletic Department and El Toro Mexican Restaurant & Cantina are partnering up this fall to bring a new fan experience for local children and families, sponsoring four Fall Youth Sports Days in the month of September.
The PLU Fall Youth Sports Days presented by El Toro Mexican Restaurant & Cantina will give kids the opportunity to meet PLU student-athletes, collect autographs, and go home with a commemorative Keepsake. The first game is on Sunday, September 7 when the Northwest Conference Champion PLU women's soccer team hosts Pomona-Pitzer Colleges at East Field. NWC Champion men's soccer will host its Youth Sports Day later that afternoon when they play host to the University of California, Santa Cruz. Football will host their Youth Sports Day on Saturday, September 13 against Simpson University in the home opener at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup while PLU volleyball opens NWC action by hosting the Youth Sports Day on Friday, September 19 inside Olson Gymnasium against Lewis & Clark College.
What to expect:
- 5-10 minutes after the game, players will head to a designated area naer the field/court
- Kids will receive a small ball to get signed by PLU student-athletes
- Autograph sessions will last at least 10-15 minutes if not longer depending on athlete availability
