Meade Lands 2nd Career NWC Special Teams Honor

Official NWC Release

HILLSBORO, Ore. — Pacific Lutheran University football student-athlete Connor Meade took the opening kickoff to the house for the second time in his career and on Monday was named the Northwest Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.

The Tacoma, Washington native rumbled 90-yards down the sideline, taking the opening kickoff back for a touchdown and setting the tone in PLU's lopsided 42-16 victory over Simpson University on Saturday in the home opener at Sparks Stadium.

Meade finished the day with 103 total return yards while also catching two passes for 35 yards. The sophomore also had one punt return for seven yards, finishing the afternoon with 145 total yards.

This is the second time Meade has tallied NWC Player of the Week honors, landing the accolade on Oct. 14, 2024 after returning the opening kick for a touchdown in PLU's 34-18 win over Pacific University.

Meade and the rest of the Lutes finish off the non-conference slate on Saturday, hosting 23rd-ranked Trinity University at 12 p.m.
