SEATTLE, Wash. — The Pacific Lutheran University men's and women's track & field teams dusted off the rust this weekend, with select sprinters and jumpers competing over two days at the University of Washington Preview Meet inside Dempsey Indoor.

"We had some solid performances all around and it was good to get back out for our jumpers and sprint crew after winter break," said Head Coach
Trey Henderson.

"I thought Abi had a good two days in the jumps and hurdles and Souky and Lexie had really good debuts in the sprints"

The Lutes opened things up on Friday in the field events.
Bridger Hanis cleared six feet, ¾ inches in the high jump, registering 10
th overall against a field from all three NCAA divisions while
Peter Essex was 13
th in the pole vault, clearing 11' 9 ¾".

Abi Caprye headlined the women on Friday evening, placing fourth in the B section of the high jump by clearing 5' 1" and placing 11
th in the pole vault (10' 4") with
Ki Neir 13
th with a clearance of 9' 10".

Saturday saw
Hunter Kleindl place seventh in the pole vault, clearing 13' 10" while
Seth Kramer leaped 20' 10 ½" in the long jump and clocked a time of 24.06 in the 200-meters.
Tyger Willingham finished the 60-meter dash in 7.30 while
Jack Erickson ran in both the 400-meters (55.65) and 200-meters (24.12).

Lexie McGurk and
Souky Waters both raced in the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes. McGurk clocked a 8.27 in the shorter of the two events and a time of 27.04 in the longer one. Waters meanwhile ran 8.14 in the 60 and 27.80 in the 200.Â
Addisen Hering won her heat of the 60-meter hurdles, crossing in 9.78 while Caprye clocked an effort of 10.13 in the same event.Â
"The number one thing for these early meets is to get feedback on where we are at in this early phase of training and the technical cues we need to continue developing. All in all a productive weekend for the Lutes!"
The weekend meet was the first for the Lutes since sending a small contingent to Spokane back in early December.Â

The Lutes return to Seattle and Dempsey Indoor on Jan. 30, competing at the UW Invitational.
