TACOMA, Wash. — Sydney Reisner rose to the occasion on Tuesday night, becoming just the 12th Lute to eclipse 1,000 career points, dropping 16 in the Pacific Lutheran University women's basketball squad's 84-42 setback to crosstown rival University of Puget Sound.
Reisner etched her name into the record books with 67 seconds left in the first quarter, sinking a pair of free throws to eclipse the 1,000-point barrier, becoming the 12th player to hit the milestone and the first Lute to do so since Samantha Potter in 2014. Reisner finished the game with 16 points and now sits 40 points shy of 10th place on the program's all-time scoring list, currently held by 2024 PLU Hall of Fame Inductee Becky Franza (1,052 points) who played from 1998 to 2002.
"Scoring 1,000 points in a career shows great talent and incredible consistency and that's what sums up Syd. I'm so happy for her, she will go down as one of the all-time PLU greats," said Head Coach
Lee Aduddell.
