TACOMA, Wash. — The National Fastpitch Coaches Association released its national players of the week on Tuesday with Pacific Lutheran University slugger
Paola Garcia earning NFCA Hitter of the Week.

The Downey, California native smashed five home runs, hit .423 at the plate, with 12 RBIs across eight games to keep the Lutes in first place in the Northwest Conference standings.Â
The senior outfielder had six hits and three home runs in a four-game midweek series with Lewis & Clark College, including blasting two bombs, going three-for-three and walking three times in a 7-6 extra innings win over the River Otters.
Garcia carried that success into the weekend, hitting two home runs in a 10-0 thumping of University of Puget Sound and was a key part of a Lute offense that racked up 41 runs over the four game series with the Loggers.
Garcia finished the week with a .423 batting average with a .515 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage. The senior had 11 hits, of which five were home runs while racking up 12 RBIs and scoring 10 runs. Her efforts, helped the Lutes win six of their eight home games during the week, including a four-game sweep of Puget Sound.Â
Defensively, Garcia had 19 putouts and one assist with no errors.Â

Garcia and the Lutes are back on the diamond on Friday with a road doubleheader in Newberg, Oregon against George Fox University.Â
