HILLSBORO, Ore. — The Pacific Lutheran University Athletic Department sits fourth overall in the 2025-2026 McIlroy-Lewis All-Sports Trophy standings released on Thursday by the Northwest Conference.
The Lutes own 102 points at the conclusion of the winter sports seasons, owning a four-point lead on fifth place Linfield University and trailing in-state rival Whitman College by two points.
Whitworth University reigns atop the rankings with 147 points after winning regular season conference titles in three of the four winter sports. University of Puget Sound sits second with 133 points. Linfield is the top Oregon school, sitting fifth overall with 98 points.
George Fox University is sixth with 90 points followed by Willamette University in seventh (87 points). Pacific University and Lewis & Clark College round out the standings in eighth (70 points) and ninth place (67 points), respectively.
PLU tallied 31 points during the winter season, scoring 14 from the women's swimming team's third place finish and 10 points from men's swimming placing fifth. Men's basketball tallied five points with women's basketball contributing two.
The Lutes sat second overall after the fall, getting 17 points from women's soccer sharing the NWC title while banking 16 from men's soccer and 14 from third place finishes from both football and volleyball.
The Northwest Conference All-Sports Trophy recognizes athletic excellence among Northwest Conference institutions across all fields of competition. It is named in honor of John Lewis, the baseball coach (1947-72), basketball coach (1947-67) and athletics director (1952- 72) at Willamette University; and Jane McIlroy, Linfield College's women's athletics director and physical education professor from 1950-82 who also coached field hockey (1952-81), basketball, volleyball, softball and tennis.
The final All-Sports Trophy standings will be released after the conclusion of spring sports with conference championships still to be contested for the sports of baseball, men's and women's golf, women's lacrosse, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track & field, and softball.
