Liviu Bird joined the Lutes as an assistant coach for both the PLU men’s and women’s soccer programs prior to the 2021 spring season.
Bird joined the Lutes after serving as a Performance Video Analyst for the MLS Cup Champion Columbus Crew during the 2020 season.
Bird has additional experience coaching for the Seattle Sounders U-23 team, the Kitsap Pumas, Tacoma Community College, Edmonds Community College, and Trinity Lutheran University. Bird has also coached with Kitsap Alliance FC and Washington Premier FC.
Bird played collegiately at Seattle Pacific University and Highline College, earning an associate’s degree from Highline in 2010 and a degree in communications from SPU in 2012. After college, Bird played semi-professionally as a goalkeeper in USL League 2 with the Kitsap Pumas and the North Sound Seawolves.
