ORANGE, Calif. - A couple of streaks came to an end on Tuesday afternoon as Chapman defeated Pacific Lutheran, 6-3, in a non-conference men's tennis match at the Chapman Tennis Courts.
Chapman claimed wins in five of the six singles matches to overcome a deficit and snap their six-match losing streak. At the same time, PLU's four-match winning streak came to an end.
The Lutes got off to a strong start with wins in two of the three doubles matches. Scott Sheldon and Taylor Dickey added another victory to their total at No. 1 doubles with an 8-2 victory over Andre Herd and Chris Williams. Michael Parretta and Zack AhYat, playing No. 2 doubles, defeated Dylan Tevlin and Giovanni Villicana by the same 8-2 score.
Sheldon was the only PLU player to earn a singles win, beating Herd by a 7-6, 3-6, 6-2 score in the No. 1 match.
The Lutes continue their California spring break trip tomorrow with a match at Whittier.
