WHITTIER, Calif. - Whittier College showed why it is ranked No. 27 in Division III men's tennis with a 9-0 whitewash of Pacific Lutheran on Wednesday at Ettinger Tennis Courts.
The Poets, now 10-4 in duals this season, lost only eight total games in doubles and swept all six singles matches in straight sets. Zack AhYat had the closest match for the Lutes on this day, falling to Chris Schommer, 7-6 (5), 7-5, at No. 3 singles.
PLU, 6-9 this season, concludes its four-match California spring break trip on Friday when it takes on Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, ranked No. 3 in the country.
