SPOKANE, Wash. - The Pacific Lutheran University men's swimming team was unable to match the firepower of host Whitworth University on Saturday afternoon, falling 138-65 for the Lutes' first setback of the Northwest Conference dual meet slate.
"We swam well," said Head Coach
Matt Sellman. "Most of our student-athletes enjoyed swimming some secondary events and did well with a lot of season bests. We are excited to be heading home with a split for the weekend."
Bradley Jerome came away with the win in the 100-yard breaststroke, besting the field in a time of one minute, 0.60 seconds.Â
The Lutes netted second place finishes in the 200-yard medley relay (1:39.57),
Bradley Jerome in the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.15),
Hayden Mortensen in the 50-yard freestyle (22.64),
Jeff Lozensky in the 400-yard individual medley (4:39.37),
Elijah Singstad in the 100-yard freestyle (48.75) and the 200-yard freestyle relay team (1:28.27).Â
The Lutes are back in the pool on Friday, hosting Linfield College at 6 p.m.
