TACOMA, Wash. – With a 1-0 victory over visiting Linfield College on Saturday, the Pacific Lutheran University women's soccer team is now riding a nine-match winning streak, which is the longest since the Lutes joined NCAA Division III and the longest since they were the national runner-up in 1992. Â

Junior
Tasha Tennyson provided the game-winner for the home team in the eighth minute.  Tennyson poked the ball past the Wildcat keeper after receiving a pass from freshman
Meghan Michels.  It was Tennyson's third goal of the season and Michels' fifth assist to lead the team. Â
Â
The Lutes (10-1-1, 8-0-0) controlled the ball for much of the afternoon and PLU keeper
Ashton Huppert had to make just ____ saves to earn her fifth shutout of the season.  The junior goalie has yet to allow a goal this season in over 500 minutes of game action.Â
Â
PLU continued its domination of Northwest Conference competition as it completed a perfect run through the first round of league action.  So far this season, the Lutes have outscored conference foes by an astounding 20-1 Margin. Â
Â
On the day, the Lutes outshot the Wildcats (5-6-0, 4-3-0 NWC) 15-6 and enjoyed a 10-4 advantage in corner kick opportunities. Â
Â
The Lutes will travel to eastern Washington next weekend to take on Whitworth University on Saturday and Whitman College on Sunday.  Both games are scheduled for a noon kickoff. Â
