Westering Recognized in ESPN’s '150 Greatest Coaches in College Football's 150-year History'

Full ESPN Article

BRISTOL, Conn. - ESPN selected the top 150 college coaches in the first 150 years of college football with Pacific Lutheran University Hall of Fame coach Frosty Westering making the list at No. 39.

Westering's spot in the rankings is just two shy of current Seattle Seahawks head coach and former University of Southern California field general Pete Carroll while sitting 19 spots ahead of University of Washington coach Chris Petersen who will be stepping down after this year's Las Vegas Bowl.

A 2004 PLU Athletics Hall of Fame Inductee, Westering compiled a 261-70-5 record in 32 seasons with the Lutes, winning four national titles and making 19 postseason appearances. He finished his career with the ninth most wins in college football history and is one of only 13 college coaches to eclipse 300 career wins.

Colleges and universities around the nation are celebrating the 150th anniversary of college football throughout the 2019 season. As part of the celebration, GoLutes.com has covered some of the greatest moments in the history of the storied gridiron program at Pacific Lutheran University.
