Box Score TACOMA, Wash. – The Pacific Lutheran University men's tennis squad closed a long weekend on a positive note on Sunday afternoon, overwhelming Bellevue College 6-3 at Sprinker Recreation Center.
"It was a good team win against a solid Bellevue team," said Head Coach
John Campbell. "It was nice to pull out a win after yesterday's emotional loss."
The Lutes (3-2) got things going early, winning two of the three double matches.
Michael Campbell and
Marcus Lee secured an 8-6 victory at No. 1 double while
Hampus Pers Eliasson and
Justin deMattos prevailed at the No. 2, with a score of 8-2.
In singles, PLU secured wins in four of the five matches. Campbell collected the win at No. 1 singles, disposing of Oscar Cruz, 6-3, 5-7, 6-0, while Elisasson earned the 6-0, 6-2 decision at No. 3. Lee prevailed, 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 at No. 4, and
Jake Kim dispensed his opponent 6-2, 6-4 for the Lutes.

Michael Campbell led the way with wins in both singles and doubles. Marcus played especially well all weekend, playing with calm confidence. I appreciate the teams effort as we continue to grow and improve.:
The Lutes open Northwest Conference play on March 9 in Oregon, playing George Fox.
