TACOMA, Wash. - The Pacific Lutheran University men's tennis team has a split weekend, hosting Otterbein University on Saturday at the Sprinker Recreation Center before trekking to Portland to face Lewis & Clark College on Sunday.
The Lutes (3-1) are coming off their first setback of the season last weekend against Whitworth University, coming up short 6-3. There were glimpses of brilliance against the Pirates last weekend.
Ryan Adams picked up a victory at No.1 singles and
Hampus Pers Eliasson notched a win at No. 3 singles. The team also picked up a victory at No.1 doubles with Eliasson and
Michael Campbell working together. Campbell is a sophomore hailing from Lacey Washington where he graduated from North Thurston High School. Last year he played at No.1 singles and doubles for the Lutes and picked up nine wins at singles and five wins at doubles.
The Lutes will welcome the Otterbein Cardinals to Tacoma The Cardinals make their trip to PLU all the way from Westerville, Ohio. The Cardinals are 8-2 on the season and are currently on a two match winning streak after notching victories against NWC opponents.
The Lewis & Clark Pioneers are 2-3 on the season. The Pioneers face PLU after suffering a tough loss against Portland State University.
The Lutes look to get back on track with action beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday against Otterbein. Play against Lewis & Clark will begin on Sunday at 12 p.m.
