Pacific Lutheran University along with the Northwest Conference is working towards resumption of competition for student-athletes, while at the same time ensuring the health and safety of student-athletes and campus communities. PLU and the NWC is committed to the following principles in planning to return to play for the upcoming 2020-21 academic year.
NWC Principles for Resumption of Athletic Activities and Competition:
- The safety of our student-athletes, coaches and staff is the top priority for the NWC.
- The NWC is committed to the implementation of enhanced safety protocols across its membership to allow for the resumption of athletic activities and competition in a manner that seeks to safeguard the health of its student-athletes, coaches and staff. Accordingly, we will be guided by:
- The public health guidelines, mandates and timelines outlined by respective state and local agencies for the resumption of athletic activities and events.
- The NCAA Core Principles of Resocialization of Collegiate Sport
- The NCAA Division III guiding principles and membership requirements.
- The NWC conference schedule, contests and championship event opportunities are the central focus in planning for return to competition. The intent is to deliver a quality student-athlete experience following public health guidelines, directives and timelines.
