SALEM, Ore. – The Pacific Lutheran University women's tennis team climbed back to .500 for the season and picked up their first Northwest Conference victory of the year with a 7-2 win over Willamette University on Saturday afternoon.
Â
"I'm so proud of how the Lutes competed today," said PLU Head Coach
Cheri Campbell. "Jillian (Chong) and Meggie (Burnett) won easily at No. 3 doubles to start us off. We dominated the singles. Syd overcame a 2-5 deficit to win 7-5, 6-2 by incredible court awareness and ball placement. Hannah played her best tennis in her loss, showing her ability to manufacture points. We'll use this momentum to help us prepare for our next match against UPS."
