TACOMA, Wash. - The five-time defending Northwest Conference Champion Pacific Lutheran University women's rowing team ranks 12th nationally and first in the Pacific Region in the latest round of rankings released this week.
 
The Lutes, fresh off a dominating win at the 2021 NWC Championships on Sunday at Vancouver Lake, rank 12th nationally with 55 points and is the lone Pacific Region squad represented in the Top 15 released by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association. PLU sits three points behind 10th-ranked Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Rochester Institute of Technology and enjoy a 18-point advantage on 13th-ranked Trinity College.
 
Bates College remains the nation's unanimous No. 1 in the CRCA Poll with 150 points and all 10 first place votes. Hamilton College is second with 135 points followed by Ithaca College (130 points) and Williams College (123 points). 
 
In the NCAA regional rankings, PLU is setting the pace, enjoying the top ranking in the varsity eight, second varsity eight, and team rankings. PLU's varsity eight has yet to lose a race this season against a Division III opponent, claiming the NWC title on Sunday. 
 
PLU will learn the field for the 2021 NCAA Division III Championships on Tuesday, May 11 at 1:30 p.m. on NCAA.com.
