HILLSBORO, Ore. — The Pacific Lutheran University Athletic Department is setting the pace this fall, owning the top spot in the final fall standings for the Northwest Conference's 2022-2023 McIlroy-Lewis All-Sports Trophy.

The Lutes own the top spot in the All-Sports Trophy standings with 90 points across the six fall sports. Pacific Lutheran was one of six institutions to hoist a conference title this fall and the only athletic department to earn double digit points from all six fall sports.

The Northwest Conference All-Sports Trophy recognizes athletic excellence among Northwest Conference institutions across all fields of competition. It is named in honor of John Lewis, the baseball coach (1947-72), basketball coach (1947-67) and athletics director (1952- 72) at Willamette University; and Jane McIlroy, Linfield College's women's athletics director and physical education professor from 1950-82 who also coached field hockey (1952-81), basketball, volleyball, softball and tennis.

The next update of the All-Sports Trophy will be after the conclusion of the basketball and swimming seasons in March.
