Box Score TACOMA, Wash. – The Pacific Lutheran University men's tennis team nearly swept the individual portion of Saturday's dual against crosstown rival University of Puget Sound and handily defeated the Loggers 6 -3. 
 
"It was a great performance by the Lutes, especially at the top of the lineup," said PLU Head Coach 
Paul Koessler.  "After going down 2-1 after the doubles, they swept the top five singles matches, two of them three-set wins by 
Hampus Pers Eliasson at No. 2 and by freshman 
Caleb Grass at number five.  Seniors 
Derek Stone and 
Alex Richter were impressive in straight set victories and 
Michael Campbell was dominant in a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles and teamed with Eliasson for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles."

Hampus Pers Eliasson were perfect on the day.  The duo combined to win 8-2 at No. 1 doubles and both were victorious in singles.  Campbell won 6-0, 6-3 at the top spot in the lineup and Eliasson battled for a three-set win (5-7, 6-3, 6-3) at the second slot. 
 
Alex Richter kept the momentum going at No. 3 with a 7-5, 7-6 win and 
Derek Stone won by a pair of 6-3 scores at No. 4.  
Caleb Grass picked up his first win as a Lute, winning 6-2, 6-7 and 6-0 at the fifth spot. 
 
The Lutes will take a 15-day break before hosting the Community Colleges of Spokane at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 27.
