HILLSBORO, Ore. – For the second time this season, senior Pacific Lutheran University softball right fielder
Erin McGrath has been named the Northwest Conference Hitter of the Week.
McGrath led the Lutes to four victories over Pacific University over the weekend to extend their winning streak to five games. McGrath hit an even .500 for the weekend, going 6-for-12 with three walks, two doubles, two home runs, two sacrifice flies, a stolen base and nine RBI. The Woodinville, Wash. native currently leads the league in OPS (1.22), slugging percentage (.772), home runs (11), RBI (44), doubles (13), runs (40) and total bases (88). McGrath second in Division III in home runs, total bases and RBI.
PLU has won five straight games after beating Pacific University four times over the weekend, running their record to 24-12 and 16-8 in the NWC. The Lutes have already clinched a spot in the four-team NWC Tournament that will be held from April 21-23.
The Lutes head north on Friday to take on the University of Puget Sound for a 12:00 p.m. first pitch. Saturday, PLU closes the regular season with Senior Day against the last place Loggers.
